EXCITE supplier program

To further distinguish our strategically preferred suppliers and establish a collaborative global supplier community, we launched the strategic supplier program entitled EXCITE (Excellence through Common Initiatives & TEam work).

The EXCITE program underscores our commitment to develop a long-term relationship with our strategic partners. Based on the win-win strategy, we will team up with committed suppliers to leverage the strategic and operational capabilities of both organizations to achieve excellence. Through extensive collaboration in areas of cost efficiency, supply chain flexibility, quality and innovation, we believe the coalition will harness the strengths around us and combine our own to create significant and long-lasting benefits to each party.

To enhance the degree of cooperation, various forums, including Quarterly Business Review, Quarterly Webinar, and Annual Supplier Day are set up to address common agendas.

Supplier classification

The Supplier Classification Process at Husqvarna Group aims to provide You with accurate and detailed data of Your company’s performance, and hence give input to your company's development as well as strengthen the collaboration between our companies.

The Supplier Performance Scorecard is provided to suppliers part of the EXCITE program on a quarterly basis in order to keep an open and transparent communication.

Sustainability declaration

Husqvarna is committed to working with its suppliers to achieve Husqvarna’s Code of Conduct and Environmental Policy. Participating in the Supplier Sustainability Declaration (SSD) is a way for the supplier to contribute to this goal.

The Supplier Sustainability Declaration (SSD) gives Husqvarna an overview of the social and environmental status at Husqvarna’s suppliers and to follow up the suppliers' efforts and improvements. The SSD is part of the supplier evaluation, giving the score for the overall assessment.

The SSD gives the suppliers the opportunity to highlight important steps they are taking toward sustainability. We acknowledge that these questions do not cover all aspects of sustainability. The returned sustainability declaration will be reviewed by Husqvarna and may be used as a follow-up in connection with visits to the supplier. The supplier should be prepared to show documentation of the answers, if requested. We intend to reward those suppliers, with continuous business, who show progress toward meeting sustainability goals.

The Husqvarna supplier shall, on Husqvarna’s request, perform a SSD. If you are a selected supplier, you will, before answering the SSD, get further information.

Supplier data

Suppliers part of the EXCITE program and potential candidates for the EXCITE program receive access to Husqvarna Group's master data management system - STEP. In that way suppliers get the opportunity to maintain their own data (e.g. address, contact information) directly in Husqvarna Group's system.

By providing direct supplier data access to our top suppliers we are introducing a structured way of working with supplier data. This means more information in our system and better data quality. Improved data helps us know each other better and thus facilitates improved collaboration.
